Quirkiness, and unpredictable nature to make anyone very happy, its the perfect choice for an indie white boy.

Sheena Ringo ( 椎名 林檎, Shiina Ringo)

Is a Japanese singer, songwriter and musician. She is also the founder and lead vocalist of the band Tokyo Jihen.

I'm reminded of the countless times her music has been my soundtrack for prominent times in my life. Sheena's ability to blend raw emotion with musical brilliance is truly unmatched.

Black Girl Coming Of Age Cinema

This is a very important passion of mine, considering i did not get to see alot of movies with women who looked like me and had the same experiences as me growing up i take great pride sharing this list, and hope to share it with my kids one day.

A Deep Dive; Honey Trap

Honeytrap delves into the life of a Trinidad and Tobago girl, As she grapples with the complexities of adolescence, she falls in with the wrong crowd, ultimately becoming groomed and manipulated by an older man. Tragically, she finds herself coerced into a situation where she becomes an unwitting participant in the orchestrated killing of a boy who is in-love with her

Coming from Trinidad, ( and me as well ) an underdeveloped and potentially dangerous island, she faces the stark contrast between her origins and her new surroundings. This stark transition highlights the challenges many immigrants encounter, grappling with issues of belonging, identity, and societal expectations.

Against a backdrop of economic disparities, the protagonist grapples with assimilation pressures, resorting to stealing her mother's clothes and changing her accent to fit in. The film starkly illustrates the vulnerability of individuals under peer influence, emphasizing the lengths one may go to for acceptance.

Honeytrap" vividly explores the complex interplay between cultural identity and self-perception. The protagonist's choices reflect the internal conflicts immigrants often face, juggling their heritage with the desire to assimilate. The film serves as a poignant commentary on cultural identity amid societal expectations and adversity.

The Witch (2015)

dir: robert eggers

Get ready for a wild ride with this movie! Despite my usual aversion to 1600s dramas, I was completely captivated by the setting. Against all odds, this film had me enthralled from the very beginning! And let's talk about the dialogue - refreshingly clear and easy to follow, which is a rare find in historical flicks.

Now, let's dive into the visual experience - the bold colors and striking contrasts were like a feast for the eyes! The clever interweaving of modern-day family dynamics with the haunting atmosphere of the past was simply mind-blowing. And can we take a moment to appreciate the subtle exploration of complex mother-daughter relationships?

I may be reading in too much into it, but it added a depth that caught me by surprise. Also fuck them kids . But let me tell you, this movie had me shouting at the screen in awe.

It was simply outstanding - a delightful surprise, a visual treat, and an exhilarating experience that left me with my mouth open

No One Will Save You (2023)

dir: brian duffield

No One Will Save You' is hands down one of the coolest horror movies I've caught in a minute. I usually steer clear of sci-fi horror 'cause CGI is always a letdown, but this one defied expectations. The suspense had me hooked throughout—watching her dodge and weave through tight spots kept my anxiety on overdrive. I'd definitely toss this one your way, especially if you want to watch a genuinely scary movie, maybe even on a trip—it'll mess with your mind.

Even though it kicked off a bit slow, everything clicked by the end, making the journey totally worthwhile. Major shoutout to the CGI—it's top-notch. By the way, seeing the actor only in 'Easy A' before, this was a solid comeback. I'm definitely gonna dive into more sci-fi horror after this one.

And can we talk about how this movie finally brought some fresh air to the horror scene? It's been years since a good one dropped, and 'No One Will Save You' genuinely scared me. thanks xoxo

Liyla-4-Ever

dir: lukas moodysson

This movie caught me completely off guard, evoking a range of emotions I didn't anticipate. Having "Lilya 4-Ever" as one of my favorites, I approached this film with a certain expectation, but it hit me on a whole different level.

I found myself in tears—everything about it was simply beautiful. The way each scene was meticulously filmed and the interactions between characters felt so authentic; it was like experiencing a dark chapter unfolding right before my eyes. What struck me most was the stark reality portrayed in the narrative—a reflection of people in other countries leaving their children behind in pursuit of a supposedly "better life" and subsequently forgetting about them.

It's a heartbreaking truth that often plays out in third-world countries, and the film captured it with raw authenticity. The depth of the storytelling left a lasting impact on me. Given this profound experience, I'm eager to explore more films by the director, Lukas, and share this particular gem with anyone seeking a powerful narrative about girlhood, one that explores the complexities of a downward spiral.

It's more than just a movie; it's a poignant reflection of harsh realities and the human condition.

Swarm (2023)

dor: donald glover

I just wanted to talk about "Swarm," Donald Glover's latest project. I mean, can we just take a minute to appreciate how versatile he is? The man can act, write, direct, and produce - what can't he do? and let's not forget about Dominique Fishback, she's a force to be reckoned with!

I was already a fan of hers from "Random Acts of Flyness," and seeing her in "Swarm" just solidified my admiration for her. She's talented, beautiful, and has a bright future ahead of her. But back to "Swarm," I loved how it was shot on a 35mm camera - it gave it such a raw and authentic feel. And the way he broke the fourth wall in the documentary episode? Genius.

Donald Glover is truly a master of his craft. Overall, "Swarm" was a masterpiece, and I'm so grateful to be able to witness Donald Glover's talent in real-time.

I can't wait to see what he and Dominique Fishback have in store for us next. Trust me, you don't want to miss it!

My Practice

I embrace a vast tapestry of occultism and spirituality. It is important to understand that my practice is not connected to one specific tradition, but instead combines various influences.

This diversity mirrors the heritage of my ancestors. Rooted in Afro-Caribbean traditions, my spellwork is inspired by ancient practices such as Obeah, Santeria, and Hoodoo.

I am a spiritual individual with a complex background in various cultural traditions. While the primary focus of my practice involves Obeah and Trinidad Orisha, these labels only provide a partial glimpse of my beliefs and practices.

I am willing to share some of my small spells and rituals, but I will not reveal the intricate details of my craft.
